Megan Whiteford
Grant Writer
Meg is a sustainable agriculturist. She has spent the past 10 years working in the fields on diversified, organic farms, after studying Sustainable Food and Farming as her focus at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her experience on the land, along with her Bachelors of Science in Plant, Soil, and Insect Science has provided a strong foundational understanding of the food system and the challenges that farmers are faced with. Over the past few years, Meg has spent time researching available resources for small farmers and has observed the positive relationships that can be formed between non-profit organizations and local food producers to strengthen the local economies of the communities they serve. She looks to a future where communities put ecology and health as priorities, a vision that is dependent on a shift in our society’s respect for the land and it’s people.
