CHUCK MEEK
Director
Chuck has family roots in Hawaii, but was raised in the continental United States. His mother grew up around Waialua Sugar Plantation, eventually meeting his father while he was on the islands for the Navy. Chuck received his Bachelors in Outdoor Recreation Administration and spent years working in various fields, eventually finding himself in Kauai. Chuck taught windsurfing, along with additional work as a cook, baker, carpenter, and then returned to school for his teaching degree. He worked in the Kauai Public School system as a teacher for 25 years, before retiring in 2019. Since then, Chuck has completed an internship with Aina Ho’o Kupu O Kilauea (also known as Kilauea Community Agriculture Center), where he now runs his own farm business providing quality produce to local businesses, non-profits, and individuals. Chuck views every day as a miracle, when he is not working, you can find him swimming with his wife, Carol, surfing, kayaking, playing worship music, making throw nets, or reading.
